For his fourth book, poet Phil Lucas wanted a front cover design based on the title of the collection. Included in the brief was an idea to use a close up image of a feather duster, as part of 1348design we produced several designs featuring different photos and styles. Agreeing on a sleek design with subtle colours, the book was published in August 2011 and is due to be reprinted.

Cricket fanzine entitled ‘Yes… No… Sorry’, was started by a group of friends over five years ago. It features humorous articles published five times a year, with over 200 subscribers worldwide and sold in cricket stores. I started designing it from its beginnings in 2003 to 2005 and back again in 2008 to the last issue in June 2010.

I had creative rein over 32 pages, which include a TV guide and cricket top trumps. The fanzine was nominated for an emap award in 2005. The writers hope to see the fanzine switch to a digital format.

 

 

I have designed printed material and banners for Crawley Archery Club. Shown here, the Beginners Course flyer used to generate local interest, a Membership FAQ leaflet helping new members joining the club and wind banner designs used at competitions. The ‘crow’ logo is also used for badges and t-shirts, which has been drawn in a vector format helping give clarity to the club image.

Steph’s Free From Cakes are a range of cakes and biscuits made for people with allergies. All Steph’s ingredients are guaranteed wheat free, gluten free and dairy free and are all homemade.
Initially designing various sized adverts, leaflets, stationery and Steph’s first logo, seen here and supporting her at her stand at the Gluten Free Show in London. Steph has since gone on to expand and cook more tasty recipes and has re-branded as Steph’s Kitchen. I feel very lucky to have helped her find her vision when the venture had just started.
